Faith Makena Matiri, Founder Peculiar Parents Network
Faith Makena Matiri is a Kenyan journalist with over a decade of media experience since 2012. She is the founder and leader of Peculiar Parents Network, a community-based organization advocating for adults facing infertility and creating spaces for dialogue, advocacy, and psychosocial support in Africa. She partners with health providers and uses media platforms to normalize conversations around infertility.
Married to George Mwongera, Faith draws strength from her personal journey of years battling infertility, which fuels her passion for advocacy. She has become a strong voice for breaking cultural myths, dismantling stigma, and promoting open conversations on reproductive health in Africa.
As a respected media personality, Faith uses storytelling, advocacy, and public dialogue to amplify the resilience of adults facing infertility. Her mission is to challenge shame with truth, pain with healing, and isolation with community, envisioning a society where worth is never defined by childlessness but by inherent humanity and dignity.
